HYDERABAD, MARCH 22. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Monday released its first list of 15 candidates for the Lok Sabha and 89 for the Assembly. The list was released by the party's national general secretary and former MP, R.N. Arya, after the party's executive met here. The contestants for the Lok Sabha include two women - an advocate, Shoba Rani, for Hyderabad and Mary Srinivas Paladugu, for Siddipet. Other candidates for the Lok Sabha are Kannam Raghu (Peddapalli), Ramchandraiah Yadav (Mahaboobnagar), M.D.Paul Vedanth (Secunderabad), D. Muralikrishna (Visakhapatnam), S. Appala Raju (Anakapalle), Hanumantha Rao Goud (Guntur), Vemaiah (Nellore), B.P. Kamal Kumar (Vijayawada), M. Elia (Hanamkonda) and Mylapally Laxmanudu (Srikakulam). Mr. Arya said that the party would field candidates in all the 294 Assembly and 42 Lok Sabha seats. The other names would be released in two phases after the party's State executive takes stock of the situation, he said. Prominent among the names released are that of the party's State president, Y. Shankar, vice-president, Raja Rao, and general secretary, R. David, who are contesting for the Assembly seats of Sircilla, Paderu and Yemmiganur, respectively. Also, the names of two more general secretaries, Pathakota Lalaiah and K.S. Meenayya, figure in the list as the candidates for the Nagarkurnool and Karimnagar seats, respectively.
