EC notification for phase-I polls on March 24

HYDERABAD, MARCH 22. The Election Commission (EC) will issue notification for the election to the 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly seats marked for the first phase of polling on April 20, on March 24. The notification for the second phase will be issued on March 31.

The additional Chief Electoral Officer, Ajay Sawhney, told reporters here on Monday that the EC observers would start arriving from March 29. Their full strength in the State would be around 130. Each Lok Sabha constituency would have two general observers and one for expenditure. He said there was no bar on implementation of backlog works of water schemes such as the Krishna scheme meant for city.
