Tirunelveli
By Our Staff Reporter
TIRUNELVELI, MARCH 22. The Koodankulam Nuclear Power Project administration has once again appealed to candidates seeking employment in the ongoing Rs.14,000-crore project not to give bribe to anyone for getting employment, since the entire selection process is being done within a short duration in a completely transparent manner. In a statement, the Director, S.K. Agrawal, said the KKNPP recently completed the third phase of the recruitment of stipendiary trainees for operation and maintenance, wherein all selected candidates were from Tamil Nadu and a majority of them were particularly from Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and Tuticorin districts. They had been deputed to various units of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited after the medical examination and the training for them would commence on April 15. The KKNPP, on March 21, conducted the written test for over 400 candidates for the posts of helpers after getting their names from the district employment exchange and through applications invited from the aspirants residing in the surrounding villages by proper advertisements. The candidates, who met the KKNPP standards in the written test, were interviewed immediately. The appointment orders would be issued to the successful candidates within a week after the administrative formalities were over. "Though the entire selection process is so transparent and only based on merit, there are rumours that some people are still making attempts to collect money from some aspirants with a bogus assurance of getting employment in the KKNPP. We want to make it clear once again that no agency or person can influence the selection process as the list of successful candidates is finalised the same day of the written and oral tests. Even after the employment, the KKNPP management reserves the right to terminate those candidates, who are found to have indulged in any sort of malpractice to secure the job at KKNPP," Mr. Agrawal said.
