MARCH 22.
The award committee has invited nominations for the award for the year 2003.
The award carries a purse of Rs. 25,000, a memento, and a citation. Nominees should be below the age of 45 as on February 20, 2003, born or domiciled in Karnataka for 10 years. The foremost criterion is that they must have done exceptional research work and should have worked in Karnataka for the major part of their projects.

Since 1996 ,the State Government has been giving away the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Award for senior scientists and Sir C.V. Raman Award for young scientists. To encourage young scientists, the Prof .Satish Dhawan Award was instituted last year.
