Clear skies

CHENNAI, MARCH 22. The sky on Tuesday will be mainly clear and the maximum temperature will be around 36 degree Celsius.

On Monday, the maximum temperature recorded at Nungambakkam was 33.2 degree Celsius and the minimum 25.6. At Meenambakkam, the maximum was 35 degree Celsius and the minimum 25.2. Humidity stood at 68 and 65 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in parts of Foreshore Estate, V.O.C. Nagar, Muthialpet, Kondithope, Egmore, Purasawalkam and R.A. Puram on Wednesday for maintenance work.

Medical camp

A free medical camp was organised by the S.R.M. Hospital and Research Centre at Kalivanthapattu in Kancheepuram district on Sunday. About 350 persons were provided treatment.

Mathematics workshop

In memory of the mathematics genius Srinivasa Ramanujan, the Nehru Children's Cultural Association is organising a Mathematics workshop for school students (Standards 8 to 11) from April 24 to May 5 between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 a.m. For registration contact, the president, Nehru Children's Cultural Association, 65, 4th Main Road, Thiruvalluvar Nagar, Tiruvanmiyur, phone: 24453014.

The Mylapore Academy celebrated its 50th prize distribution function last week. N.N. Jha, Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry, K.S. Bhakthavatsalam, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Chapter, Arundhathi Mohan, Principal, Sindhi Model Senior Secondary School, C.S. Veeraraghavan and T.D. Sadasivam, secretaries of the Academy, participated.
