Ashram donated to Vishvesha Theertha Swami

CHENNAI, MARCH 22. The Sri Panduranga Ashrama at Vadapalani here was today donated to Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swami of Sri Pejavara Mutt, Udipi.

The shrine, founded by the late M.Ranga Rao, father of the late R.Pandari Bai, actress, was donated by her husband, P.H.Rama Rao.

Mr.Rao handed over the keys of the ashram to the mutt head.

Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swami inaugurated the `Poornaprajna Granthalaya' (library) at the ashram. According to Sri Krishna Sri Raghavendra Trust and the Akhila Bharatha Madhwa Mahamandala, there was a plan to collect rare and old books in different languages on Dvaita philosophy. Books on the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, the Bhagavatha and other scriptures would also be available.

He distributed scholarships, given by the trust, totalling about Rs.1.50 lakhs, to 47 students of the Madhwa community, said P.Narayana Bhat on behalf of the trust.

Later, the Swami delivered the Anugraha Sandesha (benedictory message).
