Partly cloudy sky forecast

Forecast: Partly cloudy sky. Maximum temperature would be around 35 degree Celsius.

At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 31.2 degree Celsius and the minimum was 25.5 degree Celsius respectively on Monday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 77 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 78 per cent.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 35.0 degree Celsius and 26.4 degree Celsius respectively, while humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 72 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 65 per cent.

At Dolphin's Nose, the maximum temperature was 31.1 degree Celsius and minimum temperature was 23.5 degree Celsius and humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 82 per cent.

CWC, radar open to public

The Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) opposite Andhra University and the Cyclone Detection Radar atop the Dolphin's Nose here will be kept open for the public on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the occasion of the World Meteorological Day, according to a press release from the CWC on Monday.

IOB extension counter opened

An extension counter of Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) was opened at the VUDA Complex in Siripuram on Monday.

Inaugurating the counter, the IOB Senior Regional Manager, A.J. Prasad, said that the totally automated extension counter could provide off-site terminal for big and high net worth customers so that they could view their account at any time sitting at their office.

Rama Navami celebrations

Sri Rama Navami would be celebrated by the Sri Ramachandra Swami Religious and Charitable Trust at Pithapuram Colony for six days from Thursday.

The celebrations would commence with Viswaksena Aradhana and conclude with Sitarama Kalyanam on March 30.

Book fete

`Just two minutes', a special programme for children was conducted on Sunday as part of the Visakhapatnam Book Festival, in which the kids were asked to speak on given topics for two minutes.

C.P. Verma, Vishal Aggrawal and G. Sriramulu bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively.

New hospital

Rhea Hospital, a 150-bed multi-speciality health care centre, has come up at KGH Down Road in Maharanipeta.

According to its promoters, the hospital is equipped with a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art equipment, including six dialysis units, and four ultra modern operation theatres, besides an air-conditioned general ward.
