Water board's `Face to face' programme

HYDERABAD, MARCH 22. A `Face to face' programme will be organised between the top officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) and its customers on March 27at the Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad, from 3.30 p.m.

The programme, organised by the Hyderabad chapter of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), is aimed at bringing the problems of people of the twin cities with regard to water supply and drainage to the notice of the HMWSSB and arrive at suitable solution, the PRSI Chairman, N.L. Narasimha Rao, said in a press release here on Monday. Customers can register their names in advance on the phone number 23233432.

`Examination Helpline'

The Child Right Cell, jointly operated by the city-based non-governmental organisation, Divya Disha, and the Department of School Education, has introduced an `Examination Helpline' for students.

The helpline, with the toll-free number, 1600 334 008, can be accessed across the State between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. every day, including Sundays and holidays. Trained counsellors provide counselling and guidance in Telugu, Hindi and English. It will be operational for the duration of the examination and up to the time of the declaration of results.

According to a press note from the Commissionerate of School Education, the helpline, as on March 18, had received 184 calls, mostly from the twin cities.

No power supply

There will be no power supply between 2 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday in the areas of Himayatnagar and Domalguda due to preventive maintenance works, according to a press release. Similarly, power supply will be affected between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Ganeshnagar, Shenapuri Colony, Ramarao Nagar, Radha Krishna Nagar, Shivajinagar, Swaraj Nagar, Banjara Nagar, Sreeram Nagar, Rajeev Nagar, Kalyan Nagar, Moti Nagar, Road Nos. 3, 13 and 14 and Nandi Nagar.

The APSRTC is commencing Garuda bus service on the Hyderabad-Kakinada and Hyderabad-Nizamabad routes from Tuesday. The fare for Kakinada is Rs. 455 while for Nizamabad it is Rs. 160. Details can be had on the phone numbers 24740407 and 24619262.<137>
