Around the City

Clear sky forecast

There will be clear skies on Tuesday with the maximum and minimum temperatures around 36 and 21 degrees Celsius respectively, according to the forecast by the Meteorological Department. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 21.7 degrees Celsius on Monday. The relative humidity was 19 per cent. At the Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were 35.6 and 19 degrees Celsius respectively. The relative humidity was 17 per cent.

Power cut

There will be no power between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in some parts of the city on Tuesday.

The affected areas are: all blocks of Koramangala, Sarjapur Tank bed (S.T. Bed), parts of Jakkasandra, Police Quarters, National Games Complex, parts of Ejipura, and Kirloskar Apartments.

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd. said the shutdown was because of urgent maintenance work at the 66/11 kV Koramangala station.

Legal help

The Office of the Commissioner for Disabilities and the Alternative Law Forum, a non-governmental organisation, will give free legal help to the disabled people every Wednesday at the Commissioner's office at 40, Thambuchetty Road, Cox Town, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. For details, call 25482639.

Book sale

The Centre for Education and Documentation (CED) Bangalore, has an exhibition-cum-sale of over 400 titles of development related publications, from March 24 to 27. The centre says most of the material will not be available in conventional bookstores. The books cover subject categories from globalisation and new social movements, to gender, environment, dalit, and tribal issues. The event is on at CED, 8th Main, 3rd Phase, 2nd Stage, Domlur (ph: 25353397).

Yoga class

Unnathi Healing Foundation will conduct a free two-week "pranic healing" course, for teachers and caretakers from schools, combined with "psychotherapy, anatomy, physiology, and counselling skills." For details, call 23542959.
