PERAMBALUR, MARCH 23. The District and Sessions Judge, Perambalur, N.Retna Raj, on Monday, convicted and sentenced a 35-year- old youth to rigorous imprisonment in a murder case. According to the prosecution, Thangaiyan picked up a quarrel with another youth Senthilkumar at the Chathiram bus stop in Ariyalur on May 10, 2003. Thangaiyan pushed him in front of a speeding lorry. Senthilkumar succumbed to the injuries at the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital. The judge, who found Thangaiyan guilty under Section 304 (2) of the IPC, sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for seven years.
