Qualcomm, UTStarcom sign pact

NEW DELHI, MARCH 23. Qualcomm Inc and UTStarcom Inc today announced signing of commercial CDMA subscriber unit and infrastructure licence agreement.

Under the terms of worldwide royalty-bearing agreement, Qualcomm has granted UTStarcom a patent licence to develop, manufacture and sell subscriber and infrastructure equipment for use in certain systems.

Meanwhile, UTStarcom has also announced an agreement to acquire the CDMA intellectual property portfolio of Hyundai Syscomm for a total estimated purchase price of $12-15 million based on milestones and closing terms.
