EC notice to Karnataka Ministers

NEW DELHI,
MARCH 23.
The Deputy Election Commissioner, A.N. Jha, said today that the Election Commission had issued show cause notice to two Karnataka Ministers and a Special Representative to the State Government for allegedly violating the model code of conduct in the run-up to the elections by announcing welfare schemes and making promises to the people.
The notices had been served on the Karnataka Urban Development Minister, Ramalinga Reddy, the Minister for Primary Education, B.K. Chandrasekhar, the Special Representative to the State Government, B.S. Patel. About the progress in the probe into the Social Security Scheme forms found in the Bharatiya Janata Party office in Mumbai, he said the Chief Electoral Officer in Maharashtra had completed inspection and would send a report.
