KOLLAM, MARCH 24 . Safari boat employees at the Thenmala Dam today announced that they would strike work on March 25 to press their demand to regularise the services of boat employees. Addressing a press conference at Punalur, the president of the pro-INTUC Kerala Tourist Workers Congress, M.A. Lathif, said boat employees would suspend all operations on the day. Mr. Lathif said boat safari was one of the major attractions of the Thenmala eco-tourism project. In the wake of the success of the boat safari, the Thenmala Eco-Tourism Promotion Society had purchased two battery-operated vans to transport tourists from the society office to the boat jetty. However, while the services of the van employees had been regularised, the boat employees had not yet been regularised.
