CHENNAI, MARCH 24. The Defence Minister and Janata Dal (United) leader, George Fernandes, will campaign in Tamil Nadu in support of the People's Alliance candidates from April 27 to 29. The Janata Dal (United) is not part of the BJP-AIADMK alliance in the State and instead it has joined the People's Alliance, a political front, launched by Dalit and minorities' parties. Mr. Fernandes would campaign for the Puthiya Tamizhagam leader, K. Krishnasamy, in the Tenkasi constituency on April 27, for S. Kannappan of the Makkal Tamil Desa m party in Ramanathapuram on April 28 and for Thol.Tirumavalavan of the Dalit Panthers of India in Chidambaram on April 29. ``The Bharatiya Janata Party has been resorting to a propaganda that Mr.Fernandes will not campaign for us. But he has agreed to campaign for us for three days,'' Mr.Tirumavalavan told the media here today. He also released the list of candidates for the eight Lok Sabha constituencies and the Mangalore Assembly byelection the DPI would contest.
