LAHORE, MARCH 25. India's young left-arm seamer Irfan Pathan pipped the likes of Shoaib Akhtar to top the bowling averages while Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq took the batting honours in the five-match one-day series. The 19-year-old Pathan, who was not picked for the first two matches of the series, returned an impressive average of 17.87 on batsmen-friendly tracks while picking eight wickets from three matches. His best figures of three for 32 helped India win the series deciding fifth one-dayer. Shoaib averaged 29.33 from five matches while picking nine wickets. Mohd. Sami was the highest wicket taker on either sides with 11 wickets from five matches. Among the batsmen, Inzamam-ul-Haq averaged an impressive 68 with a strike rate of 97.70. The skipper, declared man-of-the-series, scored two hundreds with 123 being the highest. India's Rahul Dravid finished second in the batting averages list with an average of 62.00 from five matches at a strike rate of 73.59.
