TIRUPATI, MARCH 25. Activists belonging to the Rythu Sanghala Samakhya will be contesting from about 80 Assembly constituencies in the State in the upcoming elections as Independents. According to Audikesavulu Reddy, general secretary of the Chittoor District Samakhya, on Thursday a confederation of proactive and progressive farmers' group, candidates would be fielded in as many as six segments in the Chittoor district alone viz; Chandragiri, Srikalahasti, Sathyuavedu, Madanapalle, Puttur and Tirupati where it claimed it has a sizeable following. The contestants would fight the elections on an apolitical basis to show their might to the powers that be, he said and added that the Samakhya would go to the electorate with what he called a farmers' agenda and manifesto.
