MAHABUBNAGAR, MARCH 25. Mandal committees of the Bharatiya Janata Party that come under Mahabubnagar and Jadcherla Assembly segments and its rank and file, including some of district committee members, raised the banner of revolt against the State party leadership for allotting the Jadcherla Assembly and Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seats to the Telugu Desam Party. Addressing a press conference at the BJP district office on Thursday, party functionaries of Mahabubnagar, Koilkonda, Hunwada, Nawabpet, Jadcherla, Balanagar, Bhoothpur, Thimmajipet and Mahabubnagar municipality announced that they sent their letters of resignation to the primary membership of the party to high command in protest against the ineffective handling of talks with the Telugu Desam high command by the party State leadership. The Mahabubnagar Municipal Vice-Chairman and BJP district leader, K. Ramulu, the BJP district vice-president, J. Ramakrishna Reddy, the district secretary, G. Ramkishan, the Mahabubnagar Assembly convenor, S. Krishnavardhan Reddy, the media cell convener, G. Sreepada Rao, another vice-president of the district unit, K. Ramakala, and other party functionaries, numbering 2,350, announced that they would act independently in the coming elections as they have severed their association with the party in which they were working as loyal soldiers since the past 25 yeas.The BJP State executive member, N. Rajeshwar Reddy, is aspiring to contest from Jadcherla constituency.
