CHENNAI, MARCH 25. Southern Railway will operate 332 special passenger trains to cope with the summer rush (April-June). It plans to run one special (four days a week) from Chennai Central to Thiruvananthapuram, five weekly specials to different destinations, one bi-weekly from Chennai Egmore to Nagercoil, one bi-weekly between Mangalore and Thiruvananthapuram and one tri-weekly special from Tiruchi to Tirupati. Reservation for all the trains has begun, says a release. The Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram special (0635) will leave at 9-15 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from April 12 to June 11. It will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 4 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, the train (0636) will leave at 5-30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from April 13 to June 12. It will reach Chennai Central at 10-15 a.m. the next day. The Chennai Central-Mangalore (0601) weekly superfast train via Podanur will leave at 4 p.m. on Fridays (from April 9 to June 4) and reach Mangalore at 7-45 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, the train (0602) will leave at 4 p.m. on Sundays from April 11 to June 6 and reach here at 8 a.m. the next day. The Chennai Central-Jodhpur (0653/0654 weekly) service will leave on Mondays at 9 a.m. from April 5 to June 21. It will reach Jodhpur at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. In the return direction, it will leave at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays from April 7 to June 23. It will arrive here at 4-15 p.m. on Saturday. The Chennai Central-Ajmer (0639/0640 weekly) service will leave on Thursdays at 3-30 p.m. from April 15 to June 24. It will reach Ajmer at noon on Saturdays. In the return direction, it will leave at 9-10 p.m. on Saturdays from April 17 to June 26 and arrive here at 7-15 p.m. on Mondays. The Chennai Central-Dadar (0657/0658 weekly) will leave on Sundays at 12-30 p.m. from April 11 to June 27. It will reach Dadar at 4-25 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, it will leave at 11-55 p.m. on Mondays from April 12 to June 28 and arrive here at 4-15 a.m. on Wednesdays. The Chennai Central-Coimbatore (0607/0608 weekly) service will leave on Saturdays at 8-45 p.m. from April 10 to June 12. It will reach Coimbatore at 5-30 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, it will leave at 11-45 p.m. on Fridays from April 9 to June 11 and arrive here at 8-15 a.m. the next day. The Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil (0605/0606 biweekly) service will leave on Thursdays and Sundays at 8-30 p.m. from April 8 to June 27. It will reach Nagercoil at 12-30 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, it will leave at 1 p.m. on Fridays and Mondays from April 9 to June 28 and arrive here at 4-30 a.m. the next day. The Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Central (0603/0604 biweekly) will leave Mangalore at 10 p.m. on Sundays and Tuesdays from April 11 to June 6. It will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 12-40 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, it will leave at 7 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays from April 12 to June 7 and reach Mangalore at 9-15 a.m. the next day. The Tiruchi-Tirupati (0651/0652 triweekly) will leave Tiruchi on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 12-30 p.m. from April 10 to June 28 and reach Tirupati at 9-10 p.m. the same day. In the return direction, it will leave on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10-05 p.m. and reach Tiruchi at 7-45 a.m. the next day.
