Teenagers held on theft charges

The Shahinayatgunj police on Thursday arrested two teenagers and seized stolen property worth Rs. 3.2 lakhs, including seven motorcycles, from them. The accused, Thakur Ramesh Kumar and S. Ashok, both aged about 19 years, confessed to their involvement in 18 property offences in the city, according to a press release.

Two held; gold, mobile seized

The Gandhinagar police on Thursday arrested two youngsters, Subba Rao (20) and Jagan (17) and seized four stolen gold chains and a mobile from them. The arrested were allegedly involved in four chain-snatching cases in the limits of Gandhinagar and Musheerabad police stations.

Cheating case registered

The Narayanaguda police on Wednesday registered a cheating case against the CDR hospitals management following a complaint lodged by T. Baladurga of Kothapet. According to the complainant, she had deposited Rs. 50,000 for one year under the health-card scheme of the hospital. However, the hospital management failed to return the deposit even after expiry of the maturity period.

Chain, ring snatched away

Two unidentified youngsters snatched away a gold chain and ring from a 60-year-old woman, Kiran Kaur, at Kamatipura this morning. The woman was alone when the youngsters entered the house asking for some drinking water. One of them held her from behind and the other took away the chain and ring, the Kamatipura police said.
