HYDERABAD, MARCH 25. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has put off the release of its second list of contesting candidates to Friday. The list was supposed to be released on Thursday but it could not be finalised. The party president, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and senior leader, A. Narendra, went into a huddle to discuss the list at an undisclosed place for a greater part of the day. Meanwhile, Mr. Rao has announced a 15-member steering committee of the party to oversee preparations for elections. The panel has been constituted in the wake of the abolition of all other committees of the party. A large crowd thronged the TRS office at Banjara Hills during the day expecting the release of the list. A party activist, S. Yadagiri, threatened to burn himself if the ticket for Secunderabad Assembly seat was allotted to Padma Rao, a corporator. He wanted the ticket to go to any of the four other aspirants. A group from Khammam threatened to launch an indefinite hunger strike near the office if the party did not contest from the district. The group protested against Khammam district not being considered for contest by the TRS.
