Diabetes Institute to be set up tomorrow

MADURAI, MARCH 25 . The Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre (MMHRC) will launch its Diabetes Institute on March 27, according to V. N. Rajasekaran, Medical Director.

Briefing presspersons here today, he said the institute, which would be functioning from the MMHRC, would cater to the medical needs of the diabetic patients in the Temple City.

To coincide with the launch, a Diabetes Expo'04, an exhibition on the impact of diabetes, would be open for public at the Raja Muthiah Mandram on March 27 and 28, he said.

More than 50 stalls, detailing diabetic retinopathy, and other ailments caused due to diabetes, would be established, he said and added that an exclusive medical camp for the diabetic patients would also be organised. Experts in this field would be present to clear all diabetes-related doubts of the visitors.
