By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, MARCH 25. The three discoms today waived off late payment surcharge for consumers who have not paid their electricity bill for the month of March.

In separate statements, the BSES Yamuna, the BSES Rajdhani and the North Delhi Power announced that customers with electricity bills due in March could pay their bills without late payment surcharge.

"The facility is available only to consumers who have not already paid their bills due in March," they said.

The discoms also announced that their bill collection centres would be open on all working days till March 31. The NDPL said its cash collection centres would remain open till 8 p.m.

The NDPL chief executive officer, Anil Sardana, said: "The increased working timings of our cash collection centres will allow consumers to make payment of their electricity bills at ease and even during late hours. We are extending the benefit of no penalty on late payment to our consumers as a uniform policy for the first time."
