NEW DELHI, MARCH 25. A 24-year-old man was arrested by the North Delhi police for stripping in front of girl students outside a toilet in Delhi University on Tuesday. According to the police, Jose Xavier, a resident of Timarpur in North Delhi, had gone to the toilet of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Arts, on Tuesday. While coming out, he saw a group of girls and allegedly unbuckled his trousers and made lewd gestures. There was chaos and somebody informed the police. He was arrested under preventive sections. During interrogation, the accused claimed to be a cancer patient and also claimed to be mentally unstable. He had completed his bachelor's course in Commerce through correspondence two years ago and had come to the faculty to get a form for applying in language course. The police were trying to verify if he was actually stalking a girl as it was reported that he was being seen in the department for the past two days. On Tuesday too, he was said to have been hovering around the department since morning. A case has been registered at Maurice Nagar police station and further investigations are on.
