Partly cloudy but hot it will be

It will be partly cloudy but hot days are to continue on Friday with no significant change expected in day and night temperatures. They are likely to be around 39 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively. Temperatures recorded on Thursday were a maximum of 39.4 degree Celsius and a minimum of 25.9 degree Celsius. Relative humidity was 23 per cent.

Degree course in audiology

Entrance examination for the B.Sc (Audiology and Speech Language Pathology) course offered by the Shruthi Institute for Research and Training in Speech and Hearing, a unit of the Sweekar Rehabilitation Institute for Handicapped, will be held in May/June.

Interested candidates could obtain application and prospectus on or before May 31 by payment of Rs. 400 in cash or by sending a DD for Rs. 450 in favour of the institute.

Personality development

The Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence will organise a workshop on personality development for students in the age group 15 to 20 years on April 4 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on the premises of Ramakrishna Math here.

Workshop on press freedom

A workshop on `Parliamentary privileges - freedom of press' will be held by the Press Academy of Andhra Pradesh as part of the year-long National Press Day celebrations at Press Club, Somajiguda, on March 28 at 11 a.m.

Seminar

on plastics

A two-day seminar on `Plastics materials and processing technologies - recent trends' was inaugurated by Nagraj, Director, Bureau of Indian Standards, at The Manohar Hotel, Begumpet, on Thursday. It is being jointly conducted by the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology, Commissionerate of Industries, and the All-India Council for Technical Education.

SBH gesture

State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) has donated Rs.4.40 lakhs to the Sai Oral Health Foundation for providing safe drinking water for fluoride-affected people of Nalgonda district. D. Virinchi, Assistant General Manager, Public Relations and Liaison, handed over the cheque to A.S. Narayana, founder-member of the foundation, according to a press release issued here on Thursday.

Auto fair

Two vehicles from the Suzuki Motor Corporation - Jimny and Twin -- will be among the 10 models on display at the two-day mega auto fair being organised by Maruti Suzuki on March 27 and 28 at the Hi-tex Exhibition Grounds in Madhapur.
