MALAPPURAM, MARCH 26. The police have seized fake currency notes of Rs. 59,000 from a house at Boothanam at Edakkara near Nilmabur here. A computer and a printer were also seized by the police following raids carried out at the house today. The raids were conducted after questioning one person, Jimmy Joseph, who had been earlier arrested from the Manjeri bus stand. He was arrested on the basis of a tip-off from the local people, police said. The police are also looking for other six persons, including the owner of the house, Kondengadan Abdulla, allegedly involved in printing and circulating the fake currency notes in Malappuram district. A case has been registered at the Manjeri police station. Meanwhile, Jimmy Joseph was remanded to custody till April 7 by the Manjeri Chief Judicial Magistrate.
