BJP to issue `chargesheet' against Mulayam Government

By Our Special Correspondent

LUCKNOW, MARCH 26. The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to issue a ``chargesheet'' against the Uttar Pradesh Government headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav to highlight its ``misrule''.

Talking to newspersons today, the BJP leader in-charge of Uttar Pradesh affairs, Kalraj Mishra, alleged that the Samajwadi Party-led Government had unleashed a reign of terror against its political opponents causing total anarchy in the administration.

Mr. Mishra said a police officer of the rank of the Deputy Inspector-General had recently addressed an election meeting of the Samajwadi Party in Lakhimpur Kheri district. "This was the height of misuse of the official machinery for the benefit of the ruling party."

Mr. Mishra said the matter had been widely reported in the media and the BJP would lodge a formal complaint with the Election Commission against the police officer.

Mr. Mishra hit out at the Congress claiming the framing of the Constitution, while highlighting the achievements of its rule in its election manifesto. The Constitution had been drafted by the Constituent Assembly which had many members from outside the Congress. "There were representatives of minority groups, princely states and also members of other parties. The fact was that even the Government that was formed in 1946 was not a Congress Government."
