KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 26. Senior TDP leaders from the Jagtial Assembly constituency and their supporters resigned from the party in protest against the granting of the party's ticket to the Andhra Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board Chairman, L Ramana. The former ZP chairman, G. Rajesham Goud, the Jagtial municipal chairman, G. R. Desai, the Telugu rythu district president, Jitender Rao, councillor, Haricharan Rao, party leaders, M. Janardhan Reddy, Kishan, Bhaskar, Chandra Prakash and others faxed their resignation to the party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu. These leaders had earlier openly opposed the candidature of Mr. Ramana -- who has lost twice -- and had demanded that the party ticket be given to one of them. They expressed concern over the TDP high command neglecting senior leaders who had strived for the development of the party.
