MANGALORE, MARCH 26. The "Ashtabandha Brahmakalashabhisheka" and "Mahamudappa Seva" of Sri Mahaganapathi Temple, Sri Kshetra Ganeshpura, Katipalla near here, will be held between March 31 and April 10. The working president of Sri Ashtabandha Brahmakalashotsava Seva Samiti, P. Ramesh Holla, told presspersons here on Thursday that the temple was built in 1988. He said "Brahmakalashabhisheka" was performed once in 12 years. But for various reasons, it could not be performed at the temple. A seva samiti headed by M. Devananda Shetty had been formed and various sub-committees constituted to organise the event, he said. The "Brahmakalashabhisheka" would be held on April 5 at 9.10 a.m. Arrangements had been made to feed devotees on the occasion, he said. The "Mahamudappa Seva" would begin at 10 p.m. on April 8 and would go on till 6.24 a.m., the next day, he added. Mr. Holla said cultural troupes from the State would present programmes everyday from 7.30 p.m. during the celebrations. "Horekanike" would be brought to the temple at 4.30 p.m. on April 3 from Krishnapura Yuvaka Mandala. Ganeshpura Utsava, an exhibition, had been organised. Various idols of Lord Ganapathi would be on display at Sri Ganesha Darshana Mantapa, he added.
