Satyajit Ray film academy

KOCHI, MARCH 26. Film director Siddique would inaugurate the Satyajit Ray Film Academy here on March 28. The academy would offer courses in videography, still photography, video editing, dubbing, filmmaking, production control, script writing, action and direction, Mr.Vipindas, veteran cinematographer, said here today. He said the courses in videography and still photography would be offered from April 15. The cinematography course is of one-year duration.

Rally

The Jacobite Syrian Christian Youth Association of the Kandanad diocese would organise a rally on March 27 to press its demand for re-opening of churches that have been closed down. The rally would begin from the Patriarchal centre at Puthenkurisu and conclude at Varikola.

Jubilee fete

The Silver jubilee celebrations of the epilepsy treatment centre run by the Lions Club of Cochin East would be held here on March 28. The Minister for Water Resources, T. M. Jacob, would inaugurate the celebrations.

Sidhi Sadan

The Apostolic Nuncio to India, Pedro Lopez Quintana, praised the Kerala women working in the nursing sector for their sincerity and dedication. He was speaking after inaugurating Sidhi Sadan at the Lourdes College of Nursing, here on Thursday. The Archbishop of Varappuzha, Daniel Acharuparambil, presided over the function. The Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Cyriac Thomas, delivered the keynote address.
