PONDICHERRY, MARCH 27. The 12-day national workshop on `our cultural diversity' organised by the New Delhi-based Centre for Cultural Resources and Training concluded here yesterday. The workshop was aimed at motivating in-service teachers to sensitise children to function as guardians of the cultural resources of the country. A batch of 121 teachers from different parts of the country participated. Training was given in skill-based subjects. The training would improve classroom teaching and simple but effective methodologies were formulated. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Art and Culture of Pondicherry Administration. The Secretary to Education, Art and Culture (Pondicherry), M. Sathiavathy, presented the valedictory address.
