Speaker, others file nominations

HYDERABAD, MARCH 27. The Speaker, K. Pratibha Bharati, the Minister for School Education, M. Venkateswara Rao, and the Minister for Forests, Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, filed their nominations today, for Etcherla, Dichpalli and Narsipatnam Assembly seats.

Details reaching the State election control room in the Secretariat showed that it was independents who filed most of the nominations. There were 11 nominations from the Telugu Desam and six from the Congress.

Eight nominations were received covering six parliamentary seats and 39 for 31 Assembly seats as per information available till 5 pm. The Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Ajay Sawhney, said there would not be nominations tomorrow, the day being a holiday.
