Dancer expresses concern over Shantiniketan theft

NEW DELHI, MARCH 27. Senior classical dancer Geeta Chandran has expressed deep anguish at the loss of national cultural property in Shantiniketan. In a statement here, the dancer said that such theft reflected total loss of respect for Indian creativity and culture. "For petty gains the thieves have damaged national pride," she said, calling upon the investigating agencies to rapidly restore to the nation its stolen heritage.
