UDF chances bright: Minister
KOZHIKODE,
MARCH 27.
Discounting reports that `infighting' in the Congress, leading the ruling UDF in the State, might affect the Front's winning chances during the Lok Sabha poll, the Industries Minister, P.K. Kunhalikutty, said the people were quite convinced about the Front's performance.
It was just enough that the UDF stood united during the election as the people of the State were well aware that UDF alone could deliver the goods, he told reporters here.
Refusing to comment on the `crisis' in the Congress, Mr. Kunhalikutty, who is also the IUML State general secretary, blamed a section of the media for `blowing out of proportion the group rivalry' in the Congress. ``As a Minister I'm here to serve the people and not to worry about non-issues,'' he said.
The IUML is the second largest constituent in the UDF and has fielded candidates in the Ponnani and Manjeri Lok Sabha constituencies from Malappuram district. - PTI
