BELLARY, MARCH 27. Five candidates filed their nomination papers for the elections to the Assembly in Bellary district today. They were G. Shankaregouda of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), J.M. Veerasangaiah, who had filed his papers as an independent candidate, filed another set of papers as the candidate of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) for the Kudligi Assembly constituency, D. Prakash (independent) for the Kurgodu Assembly seat, Ayyali Murthy of the Janata Dal (Secular) and Giriyapur Hanumanthappa for the Hadagali Assembly seat. Four nomination papers have been filed for the Bellary Lok Sabha seat, and 11 for the Assembly constituencies, including one each for Bellary, Kottur, Kurgodu and Hadagali, two each for Kudligi and Hospet, and three for Sandur. Savitramma of the Pyramid Party of India filed her nomination papers for the Bellary Lok Sabha constituency today.
