BJP names more candidates for Assembly polls

BANGALORE, MARCH 27. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced the names of 23 more candidates for the Legislative Assembly elections. The party has so far named candidates 148 of the 224 seats. It is yet to finalise the candidates for 51 constituencies. The party has conceded 25 Assembly seats and four Lok Sabha seats to the Janata Dal (United).

The party has decided to field Manjunath Kannur from Dharwad South parliamentary constituency.

The candidates named today and their constituencies are Veeraiah Swamy (Chincholi), Indira Shakti (Afzalpur), Prabhu Kantha (Chitapur), Rajkumar Patil (Sedam), Girigouda (Gangavathi), Venugopal Nayak (Shorapur), Bhaskar Rao (Sindhnoor), Prathiba Kotrappa (Sandur), T. Gurusiddana Gouda (Harihar), Guruswamy (Hosadurga), Rajanna (Huliyurudurga), C.V. Mahadevaiah (Bellavi), Saikumar (Bagepalli), Narayana Gowda (Doddaballapur), Sriram (Vemgal), K.M. Krishna Reddy (Chintamani), Puttamasti Gowda (Ramanagaram), Shashibhushan Hegde (Kumta), R.B. Siriyannavar (Navalgund), M.L. Muttannavar (Gokak - ST), Lakshman Soudi (Athani), and Kalakappa Bandi (Ron).
