CHENNAI, MARCH 27. A WLL (wireless in local loop) phone exchange of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited was commissioned today at Maraimalainagar. It will help provide telephone connections to areas in and around Singaperumalkoil, Kelambakkam, Guduvancherry, Tiruporur and Maraimalainagar where it is not feasible now through underground cable or overhead lines. Opening of the exchange would also facilitate in the use of limited (WLL) mobility connections within a radius of six to seven kilometres from Maraimalainagar, according to a press release. T.G. Karthikeyan, deputy general manager, Chengalpattu Secondary Switching Area, commissioned the exchange.
