No power

COIMBATORE, MARCH 27. There will be no power supply between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the following areas on April 2 due to maintenance work at Kanurpudur substation: Kanur, Allappalayam, Kanjapalli, Ramanathapuram, Kumarapalayam, Alathur, Thottipalayam, Mondipalayam, Dasarapalayam and Chettipudur.

Scheme

The Department of Company Affairs, Government of India, has introduced a `Simplified Exit Scheme' for companies, which are defunct and which do not have assets and liabilities. Such dormant companies having their registered offices in the districts of Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Erode, Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri and Dindigul can send their applications to the Registrar of Companies at Coimbatore. The application fee is Rs. 2,000. Eligible companies are exempt from filing the annual accounts and annual returns of the previous years.

They need to file only the latest accounts. According to the Registrar of Companies, thousands of entrepreneurs had already availed themselves of the scheme. The last date for filing the application is March 31. For details, contact the Office of the Registrar of Companies at Coimbatore in person or at 0422 2319640.

Camp

The Animal Husbandry Department and the Pricol Rural Development Project jointly organised a veterinary medical camp at Kovanur village in Periyanaickenpalayam Panchayat Union. The Joint Director of Animal Husbandry, T.N. Palanivelu and Trustee of Palamalai Ranganathar Temple, U. Jagadeesan, inaugurated the camp.

Prizes

The Coimbatore District has bagged the first prize and 172 other prizes in the draw held for the small savings investors. The draw was held at Salem for choosing the prize-winning investors in Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and the Nilgiris. The prize-winners are requested to approach the Assistant Director of Small Savings at the Collectorate and collect their applications for the prizes on or before April 23.
