Letters to the Editor
Sir, Terms such as secularism, pseudo-secularism, minority rights, minority appeasement, Hindutva, soft Hindutva, etc., are being extensively used in campaigning. There are other matters as well that are of grave concern to the people. Clothing, shelter and care for the aged should be given equal importance. Unfortunately, all parties are concentrating on the code of conduct for political parties and violations thereof, India shining and Karnataka shining advertisements, use of IAF aircraft by leaders, Mr. Advani's rath yatra, mass induction of film stars in political parties, transfer-posting of employees, and defacing of private property with poll slogans. Another important election issue this time is whether the Congress ever accused the DMK of involvement in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination.
