One more quits TDP in Nellore

NELLORE, MARCH 28. There seems to be no end to the woes of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Nellore district. Even before the party could recover from the shock following resignation by the the former Kavali MLA, V. Venugopala Reddy, the aspirant for Rapur Assembly seat, P. Srinivasulu Reddy, joined the Congress in Hyderabad last night.

Mr. Reddy, an aspirant for the Rapur seat, was sidelined by the party. Since then, Mr. Reddy, has been in a dilemma whether or not to continue in the TDP.

He ultimately switched over to the Congress. Meanwhile, a meeting held at Pullaneellapalli village near Sangam on Sunday by supporters of K. Lakshmayya Naidu, who was denied the TDP ticket for Atmakur, resolved to contest as an Independent candidate.

The Atmakur seat was allotted to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
