Jewellery stolen?

A jewellery shop owner, Ramanlal Jain, on Sunday lodged a complaint with the Tappachabutra police stating that unidentified persons had stolen gold ornaments weighing 1.5 kg from the

side box of his scooter parked at Dadawadi Jain temple.

A resident of Gowlipura, the victim runs a jewellery shop at Shalibanda. In his complaint, Mr. Jain said he stopped at the temple while going to Patancheru on a personal work. He said the gold ornaments were kept in the vehicle's side box and when he came out of the temple, the property was found stolen.

Resident attacked

A resident of Ammannagar, Mohd. Ali (34), sustained serious head injuries on Saturday night when his neighbour, Mazhar Baig (25), allegedly hit him on the head with an iron rod. He was shifted to a private hospital in Chaderghat.

"Initially, Ali took a mask-wearing man for a thief and shouted for help. But, investigations have revealed that the intruder is Mazhar who has developed an illegal intimacy with the former's wife," the Mirchowk ACP, C. Saheb Peer, said.
