By Our Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR, MARCH 29. The task force police of Anantapur sub-division arrested a person and seized a country-made revolver and a company-made revolver from him near Thaticherla village crossroads in Anantapur rural mandal on Monday.

The DSP of Anantapur, K. Subrahmanyam, told newspersons here today that one Boya Nagaraju of Vajrakarur village was apprehended by the task force police, led by the Circle Inspector, Razzack, and the Sub-Inspector, Murali Krishna, when the former was moving suspiciously at Thaticherla crossroads during a frisking operation being conducted by the police.

The police found two arms in Nagaraju's possession and when questioned, the latter revealed that he was going to Thaticherla to sell them.

He said that during his visit to Goa, he came in contact with a gang dealing in the manufacture and sale of firearms. He learnt the making of country-made weapons and also purchased one company-made revolver from them. Based on its design, he himself manufactured a four-chambered revolver.

In another case, the police arrested one Rami Reddy at Chitrachedu village in Gooty mandal three days ago and seized a tapancha, a single-barrel gun and four live bullets.
