COIMBATORE, MARCH 29. The Avinashilingam Trainers' Training Centre will conduct a three-month certificate course in "herbal beauty therapy" from March 31. The participants will be imparted practical training in mehandi designing, application of herbal cosmetology and hairstyle.

A short-term course in "Mehandi" will be held for five days from April 5. Those interested can contact Dr. K. Vasantha, Chief Training Organiser, Avinashilingam Trainers' Training Centre (Near Muthu Theatre), Mettupalayam Road, Coimbatore - 43. Telephone number: 2449715.

BSNL bill

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has said that telephone bill payments up to pay-by-date will be accepted during working hours in the following branches of the Andhra Bank:

Main branch, Ram Nagar branch, Sulur Branch, SSI branch at Oppanakara Street, Peelamedu branch and Pollachi Branch.

Camp

The Centre for Women's Studies, Avinashilingam University had organised an eye camp jointly with the Siloam Eye Hospital and the District Society for Prevention of Blindness.

According to a release, totally 110 patients were screened at the camp including 70 women and 15 children.

Electricity bill

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has said that due to administrative reasons, assessment of power consumption charges could not be made in Annuparpalayam, Lokanathapuram, Kurichi and Jothi Nagar areas for March 2004.

Hence consumers in these areas have been asked to pay the consumption charges of January 2004 on or before April 15, 2004.

Killed

A construction worker, Sreenivasan (33) of Omalur in Salem district, was killed when a wall collapsed at a construction site on Big Bazaar Street in the city this afternoon. The fire and rescue services personnel retrieved the body after removing the debris.
