NIZAMABAD, MARCH 30. Two teenaged lovers committed suicide by consuming pesticide mixed in soft drink near Nyalkal tanda on the outskirts of the town late last night. This is the second incident reported in the district in one week. Only last week, two young lovers ended their lives by consuming pesticide in Sadashivnagar mandal after the girl was married off to another person. The girl, who had come to her parents' house, went away with the boy and committed suicide. The victims, identified as M. Sudhir (21), a second year degree student in a private college, and a school dropout, Shyamala (17), both residents of Nyalkal tanda, resorted to the extreme act as they feared that they would not be able to live together. The girl's parents are said to have started searching for a groom to get her married. The boy, who finished his examination yesterday, came to the village and met the girl. Both of them reportedly left the house in the evening. The duo went to an abandoned irrigation canal on the outskirts of the village and wrote a letter blaming none for their desperate act. After writing the letter, the duo consumed the pesticide mixed in soft drink and collapsed. A village servant who was going to the agricultural fields came across the bodies with froth oozing out of their mouth this morning. He rushed back to the village and alerted the village secretary, who in turn informed the Nizamabad rural police. Our Vijayawada Staff Reporter writes: Fearing opposition to their marriage, two teenaged lovers from Vijayawada committed suicide by jumping into the Krishna at Tadepalli in Guntur district on Monday night. The bodies of the victims, M.Swathi (15) and G. Sivasankar (18), both residents of Nainavaram, were fished out by the family members on Tuesday morning.
