Muslim Front to enter the fray

By Our Staff Correspondent

BELGAUM, MARCH 30. The Muslim Front of Belgaum has decided to field its candidates for Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies "to assert its democratic right" and protect the interests of the community.

The Front leaders said the Muslims had been all along supporting the Congress.

Yet, the Congress was not in a mood to oblige the community's request to field Muslim candidates in the elections.

Meanwhile, the Front Chairman, Mohammed Gouse Peerjade, in a press release here on Tuesday, said the Front on Monday resolved to field its candidates.

It invited applications from those who wish to contest on behalf of the Front for Belgaum Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies.

The applications should reach the office on Fort Road by April 2.
