Tallest monolith of serpent god

KANCHEEPURAM (TAMIL NADU), MARCH 30. A 16-foot monolith of seven-hooded serpent god, claimed to be the tallest of its kind in the world, to be installed at Sri Subramanya Kshetra at Ramahalli near Bangalore on April 2, has been sculpted here.

The spokesperson of the kshetra, Subramanya, told UNI here today that the Kanchi seer would perform a special pooja on Wednesday after which the idol would be transported to Bangalore. He said that it took one-and-a-half-years to complete the 45-tonne idol. — UNI
