Another Bihar Minister quits
By Our Special Correspondent
PATNA,
MARCH 30.
The Bihar Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Purnamasi Ram, today resigned from the Rabri Devi Cabinet following denial of ticket to contest from the Bagha (SC) Lok Sabha seat. The constituency has been allotted to the Lok Janshakti Party.
Mr. Ram, who had contested the seat unsuccessfully last time, declared his intention to test his strength once again. He is likely to contest on the Bahujan Samaj Party ticket.
In his letter to the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief, Laloo Prasad Yadav, Mr. Ram informed him about his resignation from the primary membership of the party and the Assembly. He is the second Minister to quit in Bihar after the Minister of State for Weights and Measures, Cheddi Paswan, had put in his resignation yesterday.
