BELGAUM, MARCH 30. The Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer for Belgaum Lok Sabha Constituency, B.S. Palaksha, and the Superintendent of Police, Sunil Agarwal, have said that the election model code of conduct would be implemented strictly in the district. Elections to the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly would be held in Belgaum district on April 26. Mr. Palaksha told presspersons here on Tuesday that nominations would be accepted between March 31 and April 7. The scrutiny of nomination papers would be taken up on April 8, and April 10 was the last date for withdrawal of candidature, he said. He said the electronic voting machines (EVMs) would be used throughout the district. Mr. Palaksha said that he would be the Returning Officer for Belgaum Lok Sabha Constituency while Rajendra Kumar Kataria, Chief Executive Officer of the Belgaum Zilla Panchayat, would be the Returning Officer for Chikodi Lok Sabha Constituency.
