BELLARY, MARCH 30. K.V. Ravindranath Babu, former MLA from Kottur, was among the 18 persons who filed their nomination papers in Bellary district. Mr. Babu is contesting on the Janata Party ticket in the Kottur Assembly Constituency. Following are the constituencies and the persons who filed their nominations today: Sirguppa B. Sannarudragouda (two sets of papers as Bharatiya Janata Party-BJP candidate and also independent); Kurgodu S. Mallikarjun and S. Arunkumar (both independents); Bellary L.M.Masoom Alikhan (Indian Union Muslim League), A.S. Dani (Urs Samyukta Paksha), H. Aleshwargouda (independent), and Karaturi Venkatarao (two sets as Congress candidate and also as Independent); Sandur Basappa (Bahujan Samaj Party-BSP) and Prathibha (BJP); Kottur Shetty Tindappa (BJP), Mr. Babu, and Korwatti Shanmukhappa and G. Durgappa (both independents); Hadagali H.G. Rudragouda (BJP) and A.B. Mallappa (BSP); Hospet N. Timmareddy (Janata Party), K. Kannappa (Congress), and B.S. Deepak Singh (Congress). So far, six persons have filed their nomination papers for the Bellary Lok Sabha Constituency and 41 from the eight Assembly constituencies three from Sirguppa, four from Kurgodu, six from Bellary, four from Kudligi, six from Kottur and seven from Hadagali.
