BANGALORE, MARCH 30. Arun Kumar, president, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), today signed a memorandum of understanding with Yu Yue, president, Xuzhou Chamber of Commerce and Industry, China. The memorandum envisages closer economic ties between Xuzhou a nd businesses in Karnataka. One-to-one business meetings between members of a delegation from Xuzhou and Bangalore-based entrepreneurs will be held on Wednesday. The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) and the Xuzhou Municipal Government today signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance relations between them and to establish technical cooperation in the field of urban infrastructure development. The BMP Commissioner, M.R Sreenivasa Murthy, and the Vice-Mayor of Xuzhou, Chao Jiakuan, signed the memorandum in the presence of the Mayor, P.R. Ramesh. Xuzhou city is one of China's economically fastest growing cities. Its Gross Domestic Product increased by 12 per cent last year. According to the 19-member delegation accompanying the Vice-Mayor, Xuzhou is an important area of industrial production in China which has a well-developed construction and building materials sector. The two municipalities have, in the memorandum, agreed to promote the advancement of transport, public health management, construction technology, education, and science sectors.
