By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, MARCH 31. The Human Rights Forum has expressed concern at the police action in driving away members of the Chenchu tribe from their habitations (pentas) in Nallamallai forest range in the guise, of combing operations against naxalites.

The tribals have been left without sufficient food and clothing for the last 15 days.

S. Jeevan Kumar and K. Balagopal, convener and State executive member respectively of the forum, said the victims were Chenchus living in Peddurthi, Buttichintalu, Errakunta, Gundla Penta, Enkala Penta and Gundampenta. The Integrated Tribal Development Agency, gave them 10 kg of rice, but no utensils were provided.

The forum decried the "inhuman attitude" and demanded that they be given utensils and clothes.
